Swedish Massage
$65 per hour
Please note this site does not intend to offer medical advice or counseling under any circumstances.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with use of hands and arms with an array of strokes such as effleurage, compression, stillness, rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranged and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility. The person will attempt to rebalance and realign itself. One may sleep better, and be more calm inside.
Sometimes a series of sessions are indicated. It is the regularity of your self care that gently aids the body toward fuller health. Breathing fully, gentle movement, gentle stretching, as one can, patience, and healthier lifestyle adjustments can further assist on the path to a healthier, happier you!
Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a method for easing chronic stressed areas. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication (between client and therapist) during the session is crucial. Make sure you are comfortable. Keep in mind that it is by listening to the body together (client and therapist) and the client's body granting permission, via his breath, comfort level, and readiness that progress will unfold.
During the session, if discomfort is present, we will take time on a gradient to breath and make contact with the area. If it is not the appropriate time, then the body will release when it is the appropriate time. It is more about slowly waiting and progressing within the client's tolerance and comfort that aids in deeper releases. Plenty of water right after the massage is taken to aid in the flushing and removal of possible toxins that have been released from the tissue during the session. Hopefully this will reduce soreness after session. Cool packing the area can also help after the session. Please note it may take a few scheduled sessions of gentle Swedish massage in order for the body to get ready for deeper releases. It has taken time for the body to be the way it is and it may require time to release. This occurs with the client's permission to self and in the person's timing.
Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage as described by Sandy Fritz in Mosby's "Fundamentals of Therapeutic Massage" 1995.
Definition of Therapeutic massage: The scientific art and system of the assessment and the manual application to the superficial soft tissue of the skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and the structures that lie within the superficial tissue by using the hand, foot, knee, arm, elbow, and forearm through the systematic external application of touch, stroking, (effleurage), friction, vibration, percussion, kneading (petrissage), stretching, compression, as passive and active joint movements within the normal physiological range of motion. Also included are adjunct applications of water, heat, and cold for the purposes of establishing and maintaining good physical condition and health through normalizing and improving muscle tone, promoting relaxation, stimulating circulation, and producing therapeutic effects on the respiratory and nervous systems, and the subtle interactions between all body systems. These intended effects are accomplished through the energetic and mind/body connections in a safe, nonsexual environment that respects the client's determined outcome for the session.
Visualizations and Meditations

Visualizations and meditations can be done during your session. This can be your own or guided. This is also another fine method of introduction to your bodywork/massage sessions. $20 for 20 minutes.

Tuning Forks
The tuning forks C and G for the Basic body are offered. Check to see if these sounds are comforting.
The tuning forks are offered to begin and end your session. Your feedback is valuable.
Acupressure
Acupressure is a form of bodywork similar to acupuncture, with the aim of stimulating specific points along the energy lines of the body to establish overall health and vitality by balancing your Qi (energy) flow. Unlike acupuncture however, with this modality I use my hands to apply gentle pressure to the specific points rather than needling, producing similar therapeutic results.
Breathing

Breathing: It is time to slow down and breathe as fully as possible! It is time to oxygenate. Though this is not really a service, it is a service to oneself to take time in your daily life to breathe.
Full breaths can enhance comfort and it is a vital process to learn how to breath deeply and fully.
Chair Massage in Your Office
$20 per 20 minutes
Chair massage: There is a specific massage chair available that invites a client in an upright position to have bodywork done to: neck, shoulders, and back. The client has the convenience of being able to get some bodywork over a few minutes that can be therapeutic. The client is in street clothes, and can get an introduction to bodywork with this method.
